BellamyBellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young 19 February 1970)[1Bellamy Young is an American actress, producer and performer, most well-known for her character Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012-2018). Her performance was so successful that she was awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Most Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2014. She starred in the 2019 season as Prodigal Son on Fox. Young started her profession as an actor in the theatre. In 1997 Young made her Broadway debut in the role of Mary in the The Life cast. The Life. [8][9] In addition to being her Broadway debut, she has played Mary off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). She made her TV debut as"Dr. Courtney Evans in 1995 on the NBC soap opera Another World soap opera. In addition, she guest-starred in the show Law & Order in 1997 as well as 1998 in two role. Her film debut was in 1999 , when she appeared as part in The crime-drama Black and White. In the following years, she starred in other independent films. She began guest-starring on a range of dramas on TV and comedies during the decade of 2000. This included The Drew Carey Show and The X Files. Young is known to have made over 30 appearances on TV series from 2000 to 2011.
